Blurb: A qi antithetical to life itself, a well of power more immense than the human mind can comprehend, and the only man in the galaxy who can see it.
The vast emptiness of deep space drives cultivators insane. Deprive one of qi for long enough, and sooner or later they’ll start stealing it from anything and anyone around them. The process eventually kills them, but not before they drain a few dozen mortals to death.
I should know. I was one of them.
But in my last moments, while the void psycho stumbled away and my body’s faculties slowly shut down, I discovered something extraordinary, something that would change the galaxy forever, something that—as far as I can tell—no one before me had ever found.
That emptiness wasn’t so empty.

I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure what to think about this one when I started it. The synopsis and cover didn’t seem all that interesting to me. But I gave the sample on Amazon a try, and it quickly became one of those stories that knew I had to keep reading. So I did.
It has by far been one of my favourite reads lately. It scratched the same itch as Titan Hoppers and Iron Prince—some good futuristic progression fantasy. The thing with Stargazer’s War, though, is that it feels more like a pure cultivation space fantasy than any of the others I’ve mentioned (not that those two are bad, just not the same).
I also really appreciated the voice that this story has. The writing style was enjoyable, and I have to say, having something in first person is a nice break from a lot of the third-person heavy books.
Aside from that, it’s got a great story and amazing characters, and although I know it’s gotten a lot of hype, I think it was well worth it.
(Though, if you’re not a fan of cultivation in space, this probably isn’t for you.)
